Hotel Vent d’Iroise is located at the heart of the Pointe Saint Mathieu site in the municipality of Plougonvelin! Visit all year round to discover a variety of walks, with the GR34 trail (along the famous ‘Sentier des Douaniers’), the Iroise Natural Marine Park (the first natural marine park in France, created in 2007), the 11th century abbey, the lighthouse built in 1835, the National Memorial dedicated to sailors who died for France and Bertheaume fort, fortified by Vauban.

The museum for this abbey at the land’s end presents a history of how the site was populated, monastic life, the abbey throughout history and the role of watching over the coast which was once the responsibility of the monks. Photos and models present the architecture of the Gothic edifice. In summer, you can take a guided tour around the abbey.

The red and white lighthouse, 37 m in height (56 m from sea level), invites you to climb its 163 steps to take in the stunning spectacle of Pointe Saint Mathieu and the surrounding islands. It is open every day throughout July and August, and many weekends throughout the year and the holidays.
